Koh Phangan Weather
Koh Phangan Weather
There are two seasons in Southern Thailand: wet and dry. Although there are two different seasons the temperature on Koh Phangan tends to remain fairly constant year round.
You’ll want to be aware that the wettest months are September to November, although as the weather conditions are determined by the monsoons this can change and December can end up being very wet as well.
The dry season on Koh Phangan tends to be from February to September with likelihood of rain increasing a bit in May and July. There can be some rain year-round, but you’ll find the rain may only last a couple of hours a day which makes it manageable.

On Koh Phangan the main roads are concrete, so traveling around during the wet season is not so bad. There are still a large number of bungalows and resorts in Koh Phangan which are served only by dirt roads or tracks so if you rent a motorbike or a car, the tracks may be difficult to pass for the inexperienced driver.
Taxis can make most journeys on Koh Phangan. Take a look at the Koh Phangan Map to see which roads are easiest to pass.
If you are considering scuba diving then it is best to come between April and October when divers can sometimes experience visibility of up to 20m or more.
